Review of Spider-Man 2 (2004) by Mate M — 15 May 2013
Sequels are always ungrateful to do, especially for superhero movies. Raimi fortunately did everything right and he even surpassed the first Spiderman. Plot is more or less similar to original (science goes wrong), but this movie has something original didn't have - Peter Parker who reveals true strenght of his powers and what comes with them.
Tobey Maguire suprised me with his performance and this movie will probably be peak of his career. What I liked most about this movie is that they managed to put into story a villain that is equal to Green Goblin - Doctor Octopus.
Alfred Molina in his role was perfect as Dafoe was, but this time villain didn't have to carry out the movie since Tobey was much, much better and his character more complex!
