Review of Spider-Man 2 (2004) by Nick C — 08 Apr 2014
This entire franchise seems to be the last stand for goofiness in major motion pictures, and although it crashed and burned with Spiderman 3, the second installment seems almost perfect because of it's unrealistic feel.
The character of Peter Parker strikes home to me in this adaptation, and the story is wonderfully paced, packed with plenty of action and drama. Alfred Molina is perfect as Doc Ock, and new supporting characters fill the movie with light-hearted atmosphere.
I don't know exactly where the reboot is going, but Sam Raimi's second chapter is stylish, thrilling, and emotionally captivating.
