Review of Spider-Man 2 (2004) by Emmanuel G — 19 Apr 2014
Definitely the strongest of the franchise, although I still feel that this franchise is a little flawed. This may just be due to my returning to this franchise after so long, coupled with the recent surge of superhero films, I did feel this film lacked some of the depth for me to really care for any of the characters as mucg as I felt I should.
However, this film does still have some spectacular action sequences, with the train sequence still holding up today. Added to this was the effective emotional development of Dr Octopus, who I thought was the most interesting character in the film.
The visuals of the film are strong, and there are some great moments throughout. These films feel a little too corny nowadays in places, but they are still great fun.
It is brilliantly paced, completely ridiculous and a hell of a lot of fun.
