Review of Spider-Man 2 (2004) by Dave W — 24 Nov 2015
Story goes, my brother and I went to the movies and had to choose something that we both agreed on. The choices were Spiderman 2 or White Chicks. We chose White Chicks, and I never saw Spiderman 2 until November, 2015.
It was worth the wait. Allthough I thought the reinvention of the Dr. Octopus character was kind of weird, with the robotic mind control angle, the performances were great, and the first person-tentacle cams were vintage Sam Rami.
The A-list cast was just as expected, and the tension in the life of Spiderman was real. While kids dream of being superheroes, Spiderman 2 suggests that it could be more of a burden than it would be worth, and that it might actually suck.
..but probably not as much as White Chicks did.
