Review of Spider-Man (1977) by Krisha T — 21 Jul 2014
The dark and gritty tone, unlike Batman, does not really suit Spider-man all that well. However, "The Amazing Spider-man", in my opinion, is better than the original Spider-Man trilogy in quite a few ways: (1) the cast is better; (2) Peter Parker is a more fleshed-out and well-rounded character this time around compared to the stereotypical nerd Peter Parker in the original trilogy; and (3) Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have great chemistry.
So, yeah, it's better in some ways but also worse in some ways (The dark and gritty tone, baddie was underwhelming, retreading the same ground as the original, etc.)... I haven't quite made up my mind about which is better. I guess I should just say that both the original Spider-man trilogy and "The Amazing Spider-man" each have their own faults and they each have their charms. I'll just leave it at that...
