The Amazing Spider-Man is nothing more than a way for Sony to keep the rights to Spider-Man. This movie is just business. The makers just made the laziest Spider-Man origin story and called it a "reboot".

Peter Parker was definitely miscasted as Andrew Garfield. He is way too cool to be in the role of a nerd and half of his dialogue is stuttering. The character of Peter in this is an annoying and obnoxious jerk.

He nags to a cop, Captain Stacy, Uncle Ben, and Aunt May. Another problem is that the makers don't even understand Spider-Man. He became a super hero because of guilt because he was acting irresponsible, Uncle Ben got killed.

But here Uncle Ben got himself killed. This completely takes away the meaning to his death. The web shooters were just thrown in the movie for fan service but never served any use besides that. What made fans like them was because it showed how smart Peter was but here he just makes the shooters and the webbing from the Oscorp web site.

Then there's never anything about him possibly running out of web. They're just there to be there. The villain is really dull, boring, and there's really nothing to him. His turn into becoming the lizard was so poorly handled though.

One second Doctor Connors refuses any human trials with his serum and then the next second he's testing it on himself without showing any change in his thoughts. Gwen Stacy as the love interest should get her own costume because she's basically a side kick.

It's really annoying how dependent Peter is on her. If it wasn't for Gwen then the lizard would've won. She saves Peter three times. The cinematography in this movie is awful too. Especially in the beginning.

There would be a scene, it gets to the important point in the scene, and then it quickly cuts to the next one. This happens a lot. ANOTHER problem is that this movie completely takes away the whole part of Spider-Man's personality of being an everyday hero.

He was just a normal person who is suddenly given powers coincidentally by a spider. But in The Amazing Spider-Man Peter is basically destined to get powers by his dad and his dad's spider research.

Spider-Man's costume is horrible. He looks like an alien. Also the Lizard looks terrible. He doesn't have the snout, the lab coat, or pants. He looks more like Killer Croc. Flash Thompson is also ruined by the movie giving him a super rushed and unnecessary character arc.

So this movie doesn't understand anything about Spider-Man and is just a product of business. There was no care about the product that was actually being made. That's why this movie is terrible.
