Review of Spider-Man (1977) by Franz H — 14 Nov 2015
A retread of the 2002 Spiderman. Technically a better made film, but no less boring. I guess I just don't like the premise and the original story of Spiderman. Teenage guy suddenly is more brilliant than the most brilliant geneticist in the world, and shows him how things should be done.
And then he's bitten by a laboratory spider, and gets super powers. And they cast another dorky-looking guy as Spiderman, and somehow a hot girl falls for him? Nah, that just doesn't work for me.
This one was boring for the first hour, mostly about the relationship with the girl. And I'm so tired of films that blatantly pander to teens and pre-teens, and the stars are teens that are so much better than older folks.
I guess filmmakers want kids to feel good, and convince them that they're born exceptional in every way, and even the dorky guys can get the hot chick, so they'll tell their friends how awesome the movie was.
Anyway, I thought it sucked.
