Review of Spider-Man (1977) by Ken L — 21 May 2016
While some of the effects are eye-popping, it's ultimately far too bland, and it completely fails to recapture the wit and originality of Sam Raimi's trilogy. Good cast aside (particularly Emma Stone), there's little to no joy or fun in this Spider-Man.
It doesn't offer nearly enough new ideas or content to seem original, and the changes it does make rarely seem for the better. Not to mention, this film's interpretation of the Lizard was nothing short of God-awful.
