Review of Spider-Man (1977) by Sean L — 06 Jan 2018
Truly awful. Does a lot of what the first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man did, but significantly worse. Then tries to do things differently, and is glaringly bad. Peter does things that don't fit with his character, shows off his powers just to have everyone forget, and he does nothing to prove he's the intelligent, nerdy character we're supposed to root for.
He's just this skater outcast guy who has the name Peter Parker. The villain, The Lizard, is wasted and underdeveloped, and his evil scheme doesn't make any sense, comes out of nowhere, and is easily foiled.
Terrible film.
