Review of Spider Baby (1967) by Jerome B — 21 Apr 2008
A deliciously unnerving horror classic that set the standard for the grand guinol family melodramas.
One of Lon Chaney Jr.'s most memorable performances, as well as the role that gained Sid Haig (most known for his iconic performance as Captain Spaulding in Devil's Rejects) instant notoriety.
Jill Banner, after whom the film is named, is also positively hypnotizing. (On an intriguing side note, she had a rather infamous love affair with Marlin Brando before her untimely demise).
