Review of Sphere (1998) by Johan W — 03 Feb 2008
The novel by michael crichton was a very decent read. the thrills and uniqueness of the novel were pretty much scrapped to create this boring and generally uneventful, often generic film that tries too hard to rely on being a scarier film than a sci-fi picture.
it takes a lot of pointers from 2001, which I feel hurt it on a level of keeping the originality of the book alive. stone's performance was dull as well as the most of the supporting cast, even the great sam jackson and dustin hoffman couldn't help this one much.
