Review of Sphere (1998) by Ross L — 13 Dec 2008

For once I wish the old saying that the book is better than the movie wasn't true, but for "Sphere" it's very true. The movie just butchers the book by barely sticking to the source material.

There are too many changes and it's obvious the movie suffered from a low budget. Ted's death is hilariously bad in a B-movie kind of way. The pacing is too quick for any suspense to build up and the actors seem to dislike what they have to do.

Just read the book and save the trouble of having to sit through a bad sci-fi movie.
