This show is alright, but it doesn't transfer the material from the book to the screen very well. Dustin Hoffman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sharon Stone are all good actors and did a good job, but they couldn't overcome how the story was told or paced.
Overall, this show is alright, but could have been much better.
