Review of Sphere (1998) by Andy G — 22 Feb 2011
-I was really getting into this movie until the last...oh, about 45 minutes when it began to fall apart. Ironically, this is about the time that the usually cool, calm, collected Dustin Hoffman begins to scream like a little girl and annoy the shit outta me.
-I don't care what anyone says, Sharon Stone is smokin' hot.
-Liev Schreiber's character was awesome and could easily be a foundation for Jim Parsons' 'Sheldon' on Big Bang Theory. I like him the more I see him (Liev. But Parsons is incredible as well).
-Samuel L. Jackson is another joy to watch. Seriously.
-Good story build-up with some tense parts thrown into the mix to really get the ball rolling, but towards the climax, it falls apart (see above).
-Nice sets and special effects.
-The Fact Huey Lewis was the helicopter pilot was incredible.
