Review of Speedy (1928) by Kris C — 13 Sep 2007
Harold Lloyd comedies rarely disappoint, and this one certainly didn't. The creativity of the absurd situations that Speedy gets himself into are classic Lloyd and they are done with great charm and wit.
In addition to the always fun Lloyd antics, this film has the additional treats of being shot on location in NY, providing some amazing shots of the city in the late 20s (The Coney Island sequence was fantastic), and having Babe Ruth in a small but very funny role.
I can't say enough about Harold Lloyd. I really wish more people would check him out. He is extremely under rated and deserves the same praise as the highly over rated Buster Keaton.
