The plot has much in common with the Americanized adaptation of Mach Go Go Go from the late 60's. It is silly, unbelievable, and outrageously fun. If you are looking for a mature take from this live-action version, you are expecting a bit too much.
On the other hand, if all you expect is a living cartoon, this movie delivers.
