Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Grant C — 06 Apr 2011
Fairly underrated. On the surface, it looks like it's just a visual headbanger. However, underneath it are some rather interesting characters that have their own set of motives, a surprisingly more complex plot with great use of economics, and some entertaining antics.
Some of the humor falls flat, but the visuals and well executed races, along with some great homages to the original shows campy nature, make up for this.
