Speed Racer was a bright, colourful cartoon in which some archetype characters drive race cars shattering the laws of physics taking down archetype bad guys. Guess what, guys? The movie nailed that! With some retro respect from the Wachowski's, Speed Racer gets everything that it needs to get right, right.
The action scenes are fast and fun, the movie takes itself totally seriously and embraces it's need to entertain the audience it's aimed at with silly jokes and a monkey. Speed Racer is a fun little movie and I enjoyed it.
Which isn't to say the film is perfect, it's long as hell.
