Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Stevenm. — 08 May 2008

Despite the absolutely horrible reviews that this movie has been receiving, I was very impressed with it. It was a wondrous spectrum of visuals, characters, and fun. Despite the cliches that plague this movie and every other movie nowadays, it was a very fun ride all the way to the end.

Mind you, this ride was a little slow to start but it caught up quickly and finished with a bang. My only other complaint is the supposed "comic relief" from Spritle and Chimchim. In small portions they would have been fine, but they went a little too far with these characters at times and it sort of through my attention span off of the rest of the movie.

Overall, one heck of a ride into the abstract world of Speed Racer brought to you by the Wachowski Bros.
