Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Keaton J — 11 Aug 2010

Sure, the plot may be thin, and the movie may be all around campy, but you can't deny how amazing it looks and how fun it is. If you can, pick this one up on Blu-ray. It is unlike anything you've ever seen.

I don't see why there is so much hatin' for this movie. I found it to be very entertaining despite the long runtime (about 2 hours). There were a few moments with Spritle and Chim Chim that were definitely aimed toward the kiddies, but other than that, nothing really bothered me.

The movie is supposed to be campy, that's what makes it so fun. This is a one of a kind film, and I think it deserves higher praise.
