You may have heard people say that Speed 2 is stupid, loud and lacks logic. I would have to agree with that, but for some reason, I found the film to be guiltily entertaining. And for the record, I am not going to defend this film, because it is a bad film, but it entertained me. I think this is one of those action films that does offer some measly sense of originality, even if it does seem too outrageous for us to take seriously. I think the thing that makes this movie fun are two things. The first thing is the villain. He is very entertaining to watch, and he's also kind of interesting. He is so insane I was actually kind of interested in what he was going to do. The second thing is some of the action sequences. They do seem like just generic action sequences, but they at least tried to do something new, even if they did go a little too over-the-top. There are things I didn't like about the film. I didn't like the boat on dock scene. It just drags for too long and doesn't really create any tension. The exposition also took way too long to get to the point, and Annie's character is downgraded from her role in the first film. There also doesn't seem to be any connection from this film and the first Speed film. In fact, you could replace Sandra Bullock with any other actress, and change the title from Speed 2: Cruise Control to just Cruise Control. Still, I have to admit, that I did have fun watching it, even if it was for the wrong reasons sometimes.

6.2/10.
