Of course we all know that there's no topping the original. However, that being said, this one did the best it could. :) The music may even have been a little bit better...they used a lot of the same musical scores from the first movie and then added their own spin to it (much like pirates of the carribean 3 did) for a splendid and epic result that seems nostalgic and all new at the same time.

:p In the meantime, I MISS KEANU REEVES! WTF HAPPENED THERE? We totally lost something when Jack was described as "dumped" at the beginning of the movie. A tragic and failing guy named Alex replaces him.

...he's got the same moves, but not nearly as much character to back it up. I dont mind Alex, but I dont think Annie is the Annie we know without Jack. :) The Irish guy (although I dont think we ever learn his name) is the best character of the whole movie, I have to say.

...and I was laughing so hard when they brought the unfortunate rich black guy back from the first one! ^_^ All in all, this movie's gold is based on having seen the original. If you have not seen the first, do NOT see the second, or it will be exceedingly bland to you.

However if you HAVE seen the first, you will likely catch all the inside jokes and fun that the directors intended. Sorry to Reeves who missed out on this one, but as far as they COULD, they did all right on their own.
