Review of Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997) by Gareth J — 30 Nov 2009
Oh dear.....is all anyone can really say about this film.....but I think that's a little bit unfair, at least a times. Three years after the huge hit Speed comes the sequel and boy is it bad, to everyone.
....except me. Yes it's a bad film, at times it's horrible and plain stupid! But unfortunately this film is a guilty pleasure for me...sorry. Speed 2 has a boring opening chase sequence, a lame setting (come on a boat?! What were they thinking!), and a ridiculous villain, hard to believe as Dennis Hopper was quite mad in the first.
The reason I like this film is because of three things. 1. Patrick Wilson, ok so he's no Keanu Reeves but at least his acting's better. 2. Teumerra Morrison, I like him in anything...cept...Barb Wire (vomits).
and 3. Willem Dafoe, as mentioned he is a ridiculous villain but Dafoe's performance is just great! Watch Speed 2 if you really...and I mean really, want a silly action/disaster movie to pass a few hours away.
Least the score is good.
