Review of Spectre (2015) by Evan M — 13 Feb 2016
Solid follow-up to 2012's Skyfall. Typical Bond: exotic locations, great action sequences, fast cars, beautiful women, a maniacal villain, evil henchmen, and martinis... dirty! (What happened to "shaken, not stirred"?). The formula has worked for over 50 years, so why stop now? Those who have not seen the last three Bond movies (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, & Skyfall) may want to do so before seeing Spectre, as the story ties into all of the previous Daniel Craig-era Bond films, particularly Quantum of Solace. Even if you've seen them, you may want to watch them again as a refresher.
The only negative was that Spectre seemed to run a little long, and the story dragged at times. However, when all was said and done, it was a fun film. The highlight being: the reintroduction of supervillian, Ernst Starvo Blofeld, and his criminal organization, SPECTRE. Bond's arch-nemesis, not seen in over 30 years. Christoph Waltz is terrific (as usual) in the role.
