Review of Spectre (2015) by Ryan T — 19 Feb 2016
Having been raised on the Broccoli franchise, and thoroughly enjoying the renewed gritty nature with the introduction of Craig and a talented collection of directors, I had such high hopes for this latest instalment.
Spectre, to my sheer disappointment, pairs itself to Jurassic World in staining a previously glistening monument of childhood adventure and excitement. To write that the film poses unanswered questions and lacks any clear direction would be an understatement.
Never before has a film of such promise taken such a fast plunge into nonsense from the first ten minutes onwards. I truly cannot begin to understand what precisely Mendes was thinking with this, as I was lost and dumbfounded once they left Mexico.
