Review of Spectre (2015) by David H — 23 Mar 2016
This film has some potenitial and I think it could be recut and re-edited from original film to fix it. Here are the main problems: The story line needs to be fixed so that the villain does not mysteriously reappear in London at the end, and the linkage of Spectre to previous Bond films is just silly.
As written, this stands as a finale to the entire series. 2) The opening is good until the fast pursuit through the crowd, when it becomes irritating to watch. If necessary, produce some of this in slow motion so the many extras can be observed and not just blurred.
3) The yellow tint used throughout much of the film is painful to watch. Maybe someone likes color altered like this. I enjoyed the documentary about filming the opening sequence much better than the film because the colors were much better.
Hopefully the original film can be restored. 4) It would be better if several of the implausible sequences were changed. The alpine pusuit of three vehicles by Bond in a plane sans wings is so impossible that it belongs in a cartoon.
With these changes, and a few more, this film could be saved.
