Review of Spectre (2015) by R Treybian P — 23 Jun 2016
Ok, the good, I do like how this movie tied everything together from Casino Royale to Skyfall. The action scenes they had were cool. The story overall was satisfactory. The bad, this movie was LONG, and I felt every single minute- similar to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Only not in a good way like TTSS).
TTSS was a cerebral movie, supported by a great story while Spectre's story just wasn'tt, and quite frankly shouldn't have tried to be. The first two Craig Bond movies were maybe 60% action, 40% suspensful story.
Quantum of Solace began the gradual switching of that scale. But while Skyfall (for me) struck a perfect balance, Spectre just amped it up 30/70. It's a disappointing ending to an otherwise great story arc.
