Review of Spectre (2015) by Andy F — 20 Aug 2017
Spectre is a million miles from the dark grittiness of Daniel Craig's debut Casino Royale and that brings with it mixed feelings. After the success of Skyfall which toyed with some of the classic Bond elements, Spectre is a movie that full on embraces what was the initial successful Bond template.
Lots of humour, sexiness, the odd gadget and caricature characters. It is all great fun and this film could easily be from the Connery or Moore era. So it certainly isn't as great as Skyfall and the reboot concept is long gone, but still a great addition to the Bond canon.
The worst thing is Sam Smith's (who?) whiny theme song!
