Review of Spectre (2015) by Smitz — 06 Nov 2015
Not as emotionally charged as Casino Royale or Skyfall, but still very much a Daniel Craig - 'era' - Bond film. It's gritty, continues to emphasize Bond's vulnerability as a character and put's story at the core of it's foundation.
Spectre is an escapist film, it's more in the realm of a Marvel film than Craig's past efforts. It's incredibly confident, stylish and fun. It molds classic Bond with the brutal reality we come to expect with these newer entries to the franchise.
Lighter, yes, but by no means a 'light' film. It stands on it's on merit and knows what it wants to be. The woman, the cars, the set-pieces, they are all present and as engaging and exciting as ever. This is not (in my opinion) better than Casino or Skyfall, but it is most definitely one of the greatest BOND pictures you'll see.
If you want a good night out, Spectre is sure to entertain and excite.
