Review of Spectre (2015) by Luca M — 17 Feb 2016
Spectre cannot decide whether it wishes to be a classic bond film or a new-era modern entry, the result of which creates questionable characters, which unfortunately includes the "bond villain" and the "bond girl".
However, Q and Bond himself remain charismatic in their respective roles. Ralph Fiennes manages to break through as M despite the boundaries set for him by predecessor Judi Dench. This is aided by his sub-plot which tries to give the film a political edge, but ultimately fails rendering Andrew Scott's role of "C" useless.
Spectre manages to deliver action thrills and stunning locations but fails to understand where it is going.
