Review of Spectre (2015) by Vance F — 05 May 2016
Back to an average globe trotting James Bond movie. Incredible location shots but way behind Casino Royale and Skyfall. It's starting to feel like this theme of "James Bond is too old" and "there's an even bigger and more secret evil organization behind everything" is getting played out.
I have a hard time seeing Bond falling in love with another woman because Vesper, the best bond girl ever, has taken his heart to the grave. His arc is starting to become similar to Don Draper's arc in Mad Men.
James doesn't really like what he is, or what he does, but he's too damn good at it to stop. When he accepts who he is, the world is better off.
