Review of Species: The Awakening (2007) by Jason R — 19 Apr 2008

Color me impressed. I'm a fan of the Species series, and I've owned this movie ever last summer pretty much but never really watched more then the first 15 minutes or so, cause I was never interested in it. Plus the third movie really wasn't that good, so I didn't have any urge to see this one. Well, I finally sat down and watched the entire thing today and I found I really enjoyed it. Not as good as the first two, but FAR better then the third. I only really have two major complaints. The first is that the alien design didn't look nearly as good as it did in the previous movies, and the second being I felt there were too many aliens running around. I was ok with a couple more then just the main character (The cab driver and the other girl), but I felt the others were unneeded.

If they made a Species 5, I wouldn't mind watching it, as long as it's better then Species 3 was. If it's in the same league as the first two, and this one, I'll be more then happy to watch it.
