Review of Species II (1998) by Chris S — 11 Mar 2008
Species II would make a good double bill (remember those?) with Tobe Hooper's similarly-themed Lifeforce (1985). Both begin with poorly realised space missions that quickly go wrong, both feature beautiful (and naked) sex mad aliens, and both are enjoyably awful.
This is cinema of the "so bad it's almost good" variety. Ultimately it's no good, but you won't get bored arriving at this inevitable conclusion.
