I don't understand why Ricky Gervais struggles to make films that aren't half as good as his TV shows?! It should only be 4 episodes put together! Pretty flimsy concept - two radio journalists (do they still exist) fake a trip to Ecuador and 'report' there story from Manhattan instead.

Pretty sure everything would've been foiled in this internet age. Their lies get too deep and they fake their kidnapping. This takes up 65min! It gets slightly funnier and with a bit of action for the final half hour, but while Bana's OK and Farmiga's brutal, Gervais brings almost no jokes or charm! There's no wisecracks and no trademark Gervais howl.

OK effort, but not good enough.
