Review of Special (2006) by Ron H — 30 Mar 2009
American Splendor meets Cool Hand Luke, Special is a study in loneliness and a person's need to find meaning in their lives. I loved the film for its grittiness and for its honesty. At each turn, when films usually decay into cliche, Special resisted.
This one is right up there with Pi and Primer for me.
