Review of Special (2006) by Brandon W — 27 May 2009

Wasn't terribly impressed with this movie after watching it, but a few hours later as I was talking about it with my brother more of its nuances stood out and I realized it was much better than I initially gave it credit for.

Very funny to start with and then it morphs very well into a serious drama without losing the character it developed early on. Some parts still have me scratching my head as I wonder why the writers led things certain directions rather than to much more realistic or simpler conclusions, but overall, this is a truly unique film that is worth watching.
