Special" is a wonderful little movie that relies on plot and characters instead of 2 hours of CGI. If you enjoyed M. Knight Shyamalan's "Unbreakable", you are the audience for this movie.
It explores different territory but it belongs to the same sub-genre. "Special" is to the superhero movie what "Martin" is to the vampire movie. Michael Rapaport gives his best performance in this flick, and the supporting cast members are treated as real people, not stereotypes used to drive the plot.
This one deserves a spot in your queue.
