Review of Special (1967) by Red F — 04 Jun 2009
From what looked to be a quirky and fun festival film turned out to be a mismatched drag and unfortunate turn-out. All accolades go to Michael Rapaport for his wonderful performance that was unfortunately stuck in this film.
As Les, he has a psychotic reaction to an experimental drug, believes himself to be a super hero, and skips about town dressed the part. The latter half of the film drags to an unrewarding finale but buried somewhere below this disguise may indeed be meaningful message.
