Review of Spawn (1997) by Jake A — 06 Feb 2013
Everybody complains about Spawn's bad CGI and thats the only thing they focus on. CG was young back then. The story is that an assassin named Al Simmons refuses to kill inisents on a mission gets set on fire and explodes in a factory by his boss and left for dead.
He gets sent to the underworld and leads an evil demon's army and become a hellspawn so he can see his wife again. John Leguizemo plays Clown or Violator takes the place of a clown who is sent to make sure he gets his incredible powers and pulls evil deeds.
He takes on the name Spawn and gets revenge on the person who shot him down rather quickly. The Clown double crosses Spawn for the other man responsible for his death. While the scene with him in the underworld may have seemed short he was down thier for 5 years which in that time his best friend had married his wife to start a new family.
altough the CG was bad, it was young and his suit actually as pretty cool for CG. Spawn is one of my favorite superheros outside of Marvel or DC so I say go see it if you havn't.
