Review of Spartan (2004) by Brett W — 04 Jul 2008
Like any Mamet film it's wonderfully scripted and paced. Unfortunately it isn't anything new. Kilmer is great but he keeps managing to obtain sidekicks that last a little while, serve some purpose and then get killed.
It's a little formula that becomes little comedic in an otherwise serious film. The DVD box also ruined the twist, but it wasn't much of a twist in the first place.
