Review of Spartacus (1960) by Cathy G — 17 Oct 2010
The acting and the battle scenes are brilliant; they have aged well. I love the bittersweet ending of the film, instead of having a directly successful one for the characters. At times, the Romance felt a little too overbearing and underwritten.
The pure spectacle and innovation of the film is what makes it worth watching.
