Review of Spartacus (1960) by Zaidsheikh94 S — 12 Dec 2010
Spartacus may not reach the levels of Gladiator, Braveheart, or the LOTR movies but neverthless, is close to a classic. The action scenes were directed incredibly well. The cinematography was excellent.
However, the movie had major flaws. First of all, at times, the movie seemed like a bumpy ride. Second, Kirk Douglas shouldn't have been the guy to play Spartacus. It should have been someone else who looked more Roman rather than a guy from the fifties.
With his beard, he was much better. Third, the movie had a very slow pace. Neverthless, the movie is classic and innovative.
