Review of Spanglish (2004) by Darren C — 12 Sep 2009
Thoughtful, amusing, heart warming, real and enjoyable, Spanglish takes you into the life of an American family who employs a Spanish housekeeper who doesn't speak English. One aspect I loved was that the father (Adam Sandler) deals with every problem thrown his way (and there are several) sensibly, unlike his neurotic, high-strung wife (Tea Leoni).
The script is crafted well and the characters and relationships are likeable and real. Spanglish is well worth a watch and displays some great fathering and mothering moments too. 8/10. Loved it.
