Review of Spanglish (2004) by Frances H — 10 Feb 2013

I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I thought it was just another Adam Sandler comedy, but it was really a drama with a lot of understated, good performances by a very able cast. And it had some very good messages--being true to who you are and making sure that your kids stay that way too, taking responsibility for yourself and your family, and not taking the easy way in life, just to spare yourself trouble, because it will hurt lots of people in the final analysis.

This film had a lot of good life lessons to illustrate and it did so very well.
