Sometimes Brooks brand of intentionally stupid humor (that often borders on hackneyed) works for me, and sometimes is doesn't. With Spaceballs, it mostly works. From Moranis's standout performance as Dark Helmet to the consistent 4th-wall-breaking self-commentary (that VHS scene is wonderful), it's 80's goofball fun.
