Review of Spaceballs (1987) by September O — 25 Nov 2012
This movie is for people who just love to laugh and don't even have to know Star Wars that much at all to understand the movie!
Space Balls is based of course off of Star Wars and is a parody but doesn't have its regular plot. The evil DARK HELMET (Rick Moranis) is after the princess of Druidia, Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) so he can convince the king of Duridia, Kind Roland (Dick Van Patten) to give the password number to their air supply to restore the air on Planet Space Balls. And only the guy who has a Winnebago for a car and a sidekick named Barf (John Candy) that can save them is Lone Starr (Bill Pullman)!! Everyone plays their part as the cowboy and helmet-crazy people they are with video tapes of the movie itself in the ship and a teacher to the shwartz,Yoghurt and Mel Gibbson who also plays President Skroob of Space Balls the planet.
This movie is great for people mainly who enjoy Star Wars but as I said before: you can still see the movie and still understand it. There are some parts where it is inappropriate and sometimes uncalled for and is recommended for people probably around the age of thirteen (which really should be rated PG-13). This movie is great to have at home and great to watch again.
