Review of Space Cowboys (2000) by Hannibal O — 18 Oct 2008
Why this movie made $92 million at the box office and why people and critics enjoyed this is way the fuck beyond me. I mean yeah, its kinda cool to see all these near-legendary actors working together and clearly have a good time, but I just couldn't get past the implausibility of the film's premise, especially when they get out into space.
I think Apollo 13 set a new benchmark for audience's bullshit level when it comes to realistic space movies and there were just way too many moments in this film where I'm like "are you serious? Did you seriously just rocket yourself to the moon strapped to nothing but a piece of metal?" Yeah, lame.
