Review of Space Cowboys (2000) by Alvin Y — 19 May 2011

I gotta say it's a good film, quite a great film. Eastwood never makes a bad movie, except some of his other films in early 90's, 80's, and the 70's. But this one, is somewhat has a Eastwood spirit BUT BUT BUT, it has so much of formula to some space exploration films like "The Right Stuff", "Apollo 13", and "Armageddon", and those 3 films put them together, you've got yourself a 2 hour blast into space.

Well, yeah, the performances are damn good, but the not very best indeed. Yes, they're old and probably they need to be retired and stay at home at least, as one of them says. And, these 4 buddies were sent on a mission, and there you have it, the rest is just physical training and laughable dialogues and moments that somehow make it also interesting. What my problem is that, it has a lot of lackness but not weakness. What happen to those other old buddies after this space mission? Did they get a recognition or a special award for this? I just don't know, it really has some questions to tell more.

And again, "Space Cowboys", is not a western, only if the rocket is a horse. HA! Eastwood's directing, writing, and acting is not bad at least, even though the film didn't made me happy a little bit.

And once again to Mr. Anthony Lawrie, this film never made mistakes, so the characters, and the ending was little wreak to me though.
