Review of Space Chimps (2008) by Freedomfighters — 14 Nov 2016
Wow, what a step backwards. I review two films that push the boundaries for cinema in general, and next on my list is a legitimately "bad" film (again, I consider 4 out of 10 "bad," not "mixed").
I mean, come on, couldn't the next movie at least be "good?" In all seriousness, "Space Chimps" is something of a blunder. It's an unexciting adventure that isn't the most well-written or well-animated adventure you'll find, and the humor is heavily reliant on puns, which means the humor stales out pretty quickly.
If anything, there are a few funny moments here and there, and the movie is solid for the kids, but it's nothing spectacular overall. While it's not the worst thing you'll come across, and it may even be a passable diversion for kids, "Space Chimps" is a weak animated offering that you will mostly likely want to skip out on.
