Review of Space Chimps (2008) by Mike B — 15 Sep 2009
I think this film has been unfairly dismissed. It is perfectly fine. For me, it had more gags for adults than the majority of post-Toy Story animations, eg a great routine based around the psychoanalytical theory of Sigmund Freud and a joke based upon the lyrics of David Bowie.
In this respect, some of the humour is surprisingly quite sophisticated - dare I suggest it went over some people's heads?! But, overall, it's fun, silly and preposterous - including a character that is ludicrously the cutest animated creature I have ever seen.
Relax and enjoy!
